The Harvard Academy welcomes Professor George Paul Meiu as a Senior Scholar of the Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies. Professor Meiu is Professor of Anthropology in the Department of Anthropology and a Professor of African and African American Studies in the Department of African and African American Studies at Harvard University. He is on sabbatical for AY2021–2022 and will join us the following year.

On July 1, 2021, Professor Timothy J. Colton became the new Chair of the Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies. Professor Colton is the Morris and Anna Feldberg Professor of Government and Russian Studies in the Department of Government at Harvard University. He has served as a Senior Scholar since AY1993–1994 and served as Interim Chair in AY2015–2016 and in Spring 2018. Welcome Professor Colton to your new role as Chair.
